We have a team of qualified counsellors and placement counsellors with a world of experience.
As a charity we rely on placement counsellors who are counsellors in training, meaning they are currently in the process of completing a counselling course to become a qualified counsellor.
Every qualified counsellor is required to be a placement counsellor before they can complete their qualification. As a placement counsellor they are bound to the same ethical framework as a qualified counsellor.
Placement counsellors are on a voluntary basis meaning they are not paid, this enables us to continue to offer a low cost service.
All of our counsellors are a member of a governing body, either the BACP or UKCP.
They are DBS checked and attend regular supervision with a qualified counselling supervisor appointed by Alternatives.
