First you will need to be referred or self-refer to our service. One of our qualified counsellors will contact you to have an initial chat and to make sure this is the right service for you. At this point they will explain the process and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions about the service.
After this conversation, you may be invited for a counselling assessment with our Counselling Manager. This can be done face to face, via zoom or on the phone and can take between 30 minutes to an hour. In this conversation there are certain pieces of information we are required to take from you such as any medication you are currently using, GP details and emergency contact. This is also an opportunity for you tell the counsellor what you want from counselling.
Once this has been completed, if you are accepted for counselling, you will join the waiting list and the next time you are contacted it will be by your counsellor to arrange your first session.
